Import data

Attach a CSV or Excel file and tell HydraAI where the rows should go:

Import the attached file as Customers. "Region" should go into Territory.

What happens

HydraAI uses ERPNext's own Data Import, not a script that writes records one by one. So you end up with a normal Data Import record you can open, check and re-run.

  1. It creates a Data Import for your file and previews the columns.
  2. It maps each column to a field. Tell it about any column whose name doesn't match a field label.
  3. It fixes values that don't match, such as a territory spelled differently, or skips rows it can't fix, and tells you which.
  4. It runs the import and reads the import log.
  5. If some rows failed, it tells you why and can fix them and run them again.

It can insert new records, update existing ones, or do both.

Before you start

  • Use Plan mode for anything over a few hundred rows, so you can check the mapping first.
  • The DocType must allow imports. HydraAI can switch Allow Import on for you.
  • You need the System Manager role. Imports run through a tool that's limited to System Managers.
  • Imports need a recent Frappe version. On older versions HydraAI may not be able to fix mismatched values for you. If an import stops there, fix the values in the file and attach it again.

Check the result

Open Data Import in Desk to see every import, its status (Success, Partial Success or Error) and the log of each row.
